Opening Remarks:
Thank you to the club for the opportunity to judge your championship show. I fell in love with this breed as a small child, with my aunts having numerous shelties from the well- known “Kerondi Kennels”. When it was time to choose my first dog – I couldn’t go past this wonderful breed. Although only showing and breeding since 2008, and still a relative new- comer, I was honoured to be given my first judging appointment by your club. Such a number of high-quality Shetland Sheepdogs were present on the day, making my task very difficult at times. Thank you to all the exhibitors for bringing your shelties out for me. It was also lovely to be at your show on the occasion of remembering Margaret Long. She was a wonderful mentor to me and is greatly missed.
Baby Puppy Dog
1st #3 BRASCHELLE BACK CHATTING AGAIN (AI)
A beautifully marked, clear silvery blue merle baby. Lovely shapely outline. A sweet expression with correct head-planes, almond shaped eye and well- rounded muzzle. Lovely reach of neck, nice angulation front and rear with a level top-line. A very promising puppy. (Baby in Show)
2nd #1 GLENMURRAY GOLDRUSH BY NITE
Lovely sable puppy. Sweet expression with correct head planes and ear set. Good front angulation. Correct low set tail that reached the hock joint. Moved smoothly around the ring and certainly enjoyed his outing.
3rd #4 BRASCHELLE BACK FOR A CHAT (AI)
Lovely tri colour puppy. Very sweet expression with correct head planes but finer in head than first two. Level top-line, good turn of stifle and well let- down hocks. A little tentative and unsure of himself and so didn’t show himself to his best advantage today. On another day may have placed higher.
Minor Puppy Dog

DAYDREAM TRIN TIMES
Very pleasing tri-colour boy whose tail never stopped wagging. A sweet expression created by correct wedge-shaped head, nice eye and correctly placed ears. Adequate reach of neck, level top-line and good turn of stifle. Coat an excellent intense black with rich tan markings. Moved smoothly.
Junior Dog
1st #9 BEAUIDEAL PLAYING IT COOL
A quality sable dog, with a very appealing expression, obtained by a dark almond eye, full muzzle and well-placed ears that he used continuously. Good reach of neck, good spring of rib and a level top-line with a graceful sweep over the loin. Well angulated front and rear with well let down hocks. Moved nicely with reach and drive. (Best dog under 18 months)
2nd #8 KELANMEE TIMELESS OBSESSION
Lovely sable boy, with a beautiful expression created by the correct wedge shape and correct eye. Would have liked to see him use his ears a little more. Lovely balance with nice reach of neck, level top-line, good spring of rib and turn of stifle. Moved quite nicely but not with quite the same reach and drive as the first placed boy today.
Intermediate Dog
1st #11 CH LYNDREAM IMPERIAL MOET
Beautiful sable boy with a full white collar. Lovely balanced outline, head and expression. Dark almond shaped eye, flat cheeks blending into a nice full muzzle and correct ear carriage. A level top-line with a graceful sweep over the loin. Well let down hocks and beautiful turn of stifle. Moved with reach and drive. (Intermediate in Show)
2nd #12 PEERIELEE BLUE PRINT
Blue-merle boy with a nice outline. Head planes correct but a little strong for me and preferred the expression on the first. A nice turn of stifle. Coat a clear silver blue and good texture. Very responsive to owner. Moved out quite well.
3rd #13 BLUSWELL BLACK DIAMOND
A nice tri boy. Quite a sweet expression with a well-rounded muzzle, but a little round in eye. A little steep in upper arm, but a level top-line with a correct low-set tail. Preferred the movement on the first two.
Australian Bred Dog
1st #14 CH DEEROD DONT YOU KNOW ITS MAGIC
Beautiful sable dog with a stunning head and expression, obtained by his correct wedge-shaped head, dark almond shaped eye and well-rounded muzzle. Good reach of neck, good spring of rib with chest reaching to point of elbow. A level top-line with a graceful sweep over the loin. Good bone. Well angulated behind with well let down hocks. Coat fitted the body well, enhancing his outline. Moved with drive. (Reserve Dog Challenge, Australian Bred in Show)
2nd #16 CH BEAUIDEAL TURN ON THE CHARM
Another quality sable boy with a pleasing expression. Correct wedge-shaped head, dark almond shaped eye. Lovely reach of neck and shoulders quite well laid back. A level top-line with a good turn of stifle and well let down hocks. Moved with reach and drive.
3rd #15 HARTLY HOW WE ROLL
Another lovely sable boy with a pleasing expression. Lovely full white collar and good reach of neck. Level top-line with a sweep over the loin. Well angulated behind. In full coat today. Balanced on the move.
Open Dog
1st #18 CH HARTLY HOW ABOUT THAT
A beautiful sable dog with a lovely balanced outline. His correct wedge- shaped head, nice dark almond shaped eye and correctly placed ears which he used so well, combine to give his elegant, refined expression. A good lay of shoulder and reach of neck. A level top-line with a graceful sweep over the loin. A good turn of stifle and well let down hocks. Balanced on the move, moving with reach and drive. A well deserving challenge winner in a strong line up. (Dog Challenge, Runner Up Best in Show)
2nd #20 NZ CH & SUP CH LOUANDA FREQUENT FLYER
Another quality sable boy. Lovely head and expression, with a beautiful almond shaped eye, correct head planes and well-rounded muzzle. Not as well angulated in front as my first place, but a nice reach of neck, level top- line and a well angulated rear. Moved out quite well. A happy boy who enjoyed his time in the ring.
3rd #19 GR CH SHELDAN MILE HIGH
Yet another quality sable boy. Sweet expression and used his correctly placed ears well. Didn’t stop showing from the moment he came into the ring. Nice reach of neck and well angulated front and rear. Moved with reach and drive. Preferred the expression on my first two today – but a quality boy in a strong line up.
Baby Puppy Bitch
1st #21 GLENMURRAY STOLE THE CHARM
Happy little sable girl. Sweet expression on this puppy with a dark almond shaped eye. A good turn of stifle but overall, a little unbalanced at the moment. Enjoyed her time in the ring today.
Minor Puppy Bitch
1st #23 DAYDREAM BACK TO BLACK
Beautiful tri girl with a lovely head and expression. Dark almond shaped eye and a correct ear set that she used well. Intense black coat colour and rich tan markings. Good substance and bone. A level top-line with a lovely sweep over the loin. Nicely balanced and moved with reach and drive. (Minor Puppy in Show)
2nd #24 HARTLY MUMMS THE WORD
Lovely sable girl with a pleasing expression. Well arched neck and a level top-line. Good turn of stifle with well let down hocks. Moved out smoothly.
3rd #26 THURRANA THERESA SKY BLUE
Beautifully marked blue merle girl with a full white collar. Slightly finer in head than the first two, but still pleasing. A good reach of neck and adequate turn of stifle. A little long in hock, so slightly unbalanced at present.
Puppy Bitch
1st #27 CHARMHILL COTTAGE ROSE
Sable girl, with a balanced outline. Lovely expression obtained by a correct wedge-shaped head, almond eyes and ears that she used quite well. Lovely reach of neck and well laid shoulder. Top-line level with a nice turn of stifle. Moved out nicely. (Puppy in Show)
Junior Bitch
1st #29 SHELDAN GIVE ME SOME TIME
Lovely shaded sable girl, with a beautifully balanced outline. Very pleasing expression with an obliquely set almond eye, well rounded muzzle and correct head planes. Beautiful reach of neck and a well laid shoulder. Nice level top-line with a graceful sweep over the loin. Good rear angulation with well let down hocks. Correct low set tail that reaches below hock. Moved beautifully with reach and drive. A little low on coat at present but a very promising youngster. (Reserve Bitch Challenge, Junior in Show, Best bitch under 18 months)
2nd #28 BEAUIDEAL WITH COMPLIMENTS FOR HARTLY
Another quality girl. Gold sable. Nice head and expression obtained by level head planes, almond shaped eye and correctly placed ears. Good reach of neck. Not as strong in top-line as I would like. Moved out quite well but not as smoothly as 1st place.

1st #31 HARTLY CRYSTAL CLEAR
Pretty shaded sable girl with a lovely outline and balance. Sweet head and expression. Lovely reach of neck. Good angulation front and rear. Moved with reach and drive.
2nd #33 BRASHELLE SWEET CHILD O MINE
Lovely little tri girl. Pleasing head and expression. Adequate reach of neck with a nice level top-line and lovely turn of stifle and well let down hocks. A little short in upper arm. Coat an intense black. A close decision today.
Australian Bred Bitch
1st #36 CH HARTLY THATS THAT
Gold sable girl with a very pleasing head and expression with a dark almond shaped eye. Lovely outline with a well-arched neck. Level top-line with graceful sweep over the loin. Good turn of stifle and well let down hocks.
Correct low set tail reaching the hock joint. Lovely on the move.
2nd #37 CH BRASHELLE CANDY CRUSH
A blue merle girl with lovely markings and a full white collar. A pleasing expression obtained by correct head planes, well rounded muzzle and ears used continuously. Adequate reach of neck and quite a good lay of shoulder. Level top-line, good turn of stifle but a little long in upper thigh. Moved out well.
3rd #38 CH THURANNA TOSKANNA
Lovely sable girl with a sweet expression. Good reach of neck and nicely angulated in front. A little long in hock but a pleasing girl in full coat. Not quite as smooth moving as the first two place getters.

What a beautiful line-up of quality bitches.
1st #44 CH HARTLY KEEP ON SHINING
A simply stunning sable girl with a beautiful outline. Instantly appealing. A correct wedge-shaped head, lovely almond shaped eye, well rounded muzzle and correctly placed ears all combined to give her beautiful and sweet expression. Lovely reach of neck followed by a well laid-backed shoulder, good spring of rib and level top-line with a graceful sweep over the loin. Good turn of stifle and well let-down hocks. A well-fitting coat that didn’t detract from her shape and completed the picture. Lovely on the move, balanced and moving with reach and drive. Was pleased to award her Best in Show. (Bitch Challenge, Best in Show, Open in Show)
2nd #46 CH KELANMEE TREASURED TIMEPIECE
Another quality sable girl. Pleasing expression with a lovely almond shaped eye, correct head planes and ear set. Very sweet and responsive to owner. Nicely angulated front and rear. Well let-down hocks. Coat of correct texture and fitted the body well. Moved out well.
3rd #40 CH DEEROD ETOILE BRILLANTE
Another lovely sable girl with a pleasing head and expression with a correct dark almond shaped eye. Lovely reach of neck. Quite good angulation front and rear. A level top-line with a graceful sweep over the loin. A little tentative today but responsive to owner. Didn’t move out quite as well as the first two place getters today.
